12 First Class Students To Be Employed Automatically As UNICAL Graduates 7,222 Students

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof Zana Itiunbe Akpagu on Friday 11th March at the council chambers briefed the press on the activities that has been put in place for the convocation ceremony.

Professor Zana disclosed that the 29th Convocation ceremony began Wednesday March 9th during the interdenominational service and will run through Saturday March 12th, 2016.

He disclosed that a total number of 7,222 persons would be awarded various diplomas and degrees in the University during the Convocation.

He said that the institution would also award 4,868 students with 1st degrees, 952 students with higher degrees and 1,402 students with diplomas.

Automatic employment will be given to 12 students who graduated with first class in the 1st degree category. He added

It was learnt that the former Gov. Donald Duke of Cross River would be honoured for transforming Cross River, and a former senator, Florence Ita-Giwa, for her contributions to the women folk.
