The Federal Polytechnic Bida in Niger State will be graduating 28,000 between 2008-2015 at the joint 14th convocation ceremony slated for Saturday, April 2 at the institution’s convocation square, Bida .
In a statement signed by the institution’s public relation officer (PRO), Alhaji Hussaini Enagi and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday, it stated that the polytechnic would be graduating 8 sets of students who graduated within the period.
“The polytechnic had not held it convocation for 8 sets of students who graduated from the school since 2008 to date, it is on this note that the new rector, Dr Abubakar Dzukogi deemed it fit to combine graduates of the institution from 2008 to date for the convocation.”
The institution’s spokesman stated that a series of activities have been slated to mark the occasion which include a pre-convocation lecture on “Managing Tertiary Institutions in a Depressed Economy” to be delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Kolo, former vice chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, on Friday, April 1.
According to the statement there will be an alumni dinner to usher in the convocation, and will be chaired by the Niger State deputy governor, Alhaji Muhammed Ahmed-Ketso who is also an alumnus of the polytechnic.
