Agency Report
The Kebbi State Government says it is partnering with the United Nation Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to promote the standard of education in the state.
The state Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammed Aliero, said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Brinin Kebbi on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Aliero said this while receiving officials of the Sokoto Zonal Office of the fund in his office.
“There is need for collaborative effort with UNICEF and other stakeholders to promote the standard of education in the state,’’ it said.
It said the commissioner called on stakeholders in the state to support the ministry on the development of education.
The UNICEF Education Officer, Hajiya Tukur Yabo, had earlier said the visit was to seek for areas of collaboration with the state to transform education, said the statement.
Another official of the fund, Hajiya Safiya Abbullahi, called on the state government to accord priority to the education sector, stressing that UNICEF would ensure impact on the sector. (NAN)
