The West African Examination Council is an examination board that conducts the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, a University entry examination in West African Countries.
Master Samuel Under, an eighteen year old former student of Yaatia college Makurdi, Benue State was honoured as the best candidates in the May/June West African Senior Certificate Examination (WASSCE) taken by over 1.7 million candidates worldwide on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at a colourful award ceremony held in Akure, Ondo State during the 53rd Annual meeting of Nigeria National Committee (NNC) of West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Nder obtained 9A1s with a total score of 659.4325 in the school exam to clinch the best candidate. He is currently studying software engineering in Saint Petersburg’s Electrotechnical University, Russia.
The second best candidate, an eighteen year old Miss Onyinye Oguejiofor formerly of Marist Comprehensive College, Nteje, Anambra also had 9A1s with a total score of 648.5706. She is also a medical student in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Also awarded the third best candidate was a 17 years old, master Oluwatobi Raji a former student of St. Francis Catholic secondary school Idimu, Lagos. He also had 9A1s with a total score of 640.2125. He is currently a student of the University of Lagos studying Petroleum Engineering.
